From April 2015 onwards, extensive field campaigns were carried in order to establish ground water monitoring sites on up to 10 agricultural fields in each participating country. Concomitantly, soil profiles were characterized, soil samples for physical and chemical analysis taken and soil trafficability measured.
Sampling of vertical soil cores in Germany to estimate carbon and nitrogen profiles and land surface subsidence
Preparation of permanent ground water level observation wells in the Netherlands
Extraction of undisturbed soil core for soil physical analysis in Denmark
Soil monitoring site establishment on a potato field on Gotland, Sweden
Soil probing on grassland sites in Finland to estimate peat layer thickness
Soil core extraction and penetration resistance measurements in Estonia
