The Thünen Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture offers students the possibility to conduct their internship and to write their bachelor thesis in the framework of the CAOS project. The following tasks can be part of the work:

  • Set up and conductance of experiments in our soil-physical laboratory like measurement of saturated hydraulic conductivity of soil and determination of water retention curves using the evaporation method.
  • Measurement of classical soil characteristics like soil moisture content, porosity, bulk density, macropores.
  • Conduct soil-chemical experiments like determination of carbon and nitrogen content from soil cores.
  • Analysis and quality control of experiment data.
